How we do
it...
This school uses a variety of games, exercises, and puzzles in order to stimulate brain development in children. These activities all have an underlying mathematical and/or logical structure. They are taught completely in English, so children are able to immerse themselves in the language.
Children want to learn. Stimulating, fun study is how the brain entertains itself. Things that are good for the brain are fun for the brain.
Forging synapse connections
Following the Meiji Restoration and the opening of the country, many Meiji leaders were able to learn the English language in a remarkably short time. One reason for this is that when they were young, they studied Chinese in such a way as to promote specific, language-related synapse development in the brain. Later in life, when they began to study English, these synapse connections greatly expedited this learning process. We use similar techniques to promote the development of the right side of the brain. It is important not just in learning English, but for a child overall development.
From Toddlers to Elementary School
For children in this age group, our program includes teaching colors, shapes, numbers, and simple English words and phrases. Above all, this is done in such a way as to stimulate brain development. For some class work and self-study, we use children books from U.S. publishers specializing in educational material (such as those from Children Publishing, among others).
Maths in English
This program has similar components to the Toddler Program, however it is more complicated and is intended for Elementary School students. Mathematics is also taught in this Program, both to strengthen children mathematical ability, and to teach the concepts underlying certain English words.
Flash Cards
With flash cards, we show a succession of English words and their accompanying pictures. These cards cover simple and more complicated English words, and are shown for a fraction of a second. This increases the function of the right side to the brain, which is able to memorize an incredible number of these words.
Photographic Memory Training
We also use 2D and 3D shapes in order to develop hotographic memoryEabilities. The 3D shapes also develop children lateral thinking ability, as they try to fit complicated shapes together.
Right Brain Exercise
A strong mind needs a strong body. Due to a lack of exercise, many children lack core strength and their posture often suffers. They find it difficult to sit straight for extended periods. Also, children need energy in order to study properly. An Eastern medical specialist has developed simple stretching exercises designed to improve core strength in children and revitalize their energy.
